BERTAR KARATE KAN TO RUMBLE IN 19TH PKF TILT
Edilberto “Bert” A. Arcositas Sensei, Founder/Chief Instructor of Bertar Karate Kan, are currently engaging his wards in deep training for the upcoming 19th PKF National Open Championships scheduled for May 2006 in Tagum, Davao.
Arcositas Sensei, who is also the head instructor for Advocacy for the Strengthening of Karatedo-Bacolod Chapter, disclosed that those scheduled to see action in the kata and/or kumite divisions in the tournament are Chomin Aberasturri, Antonio Apurado, Ana Bañas, Helen Cañete, Nonoy Cañete, Maryver Cordova, Marinell Gerochi, John David and Michael Robin Lizares, Sam Macaldo, John Paul Martinez, Dominique Mijares, Charity Salario, Marianne Sioson, Stephanie Uberas, and Marson Yu.
The Karatekas are fresh from their latest kyu examinations conducted by Philippine Karate-do Federation (PKF) National Referee Council Chairman Ramon S. Franco Shihan of Tacloban City, 6th dan black belt PKF, last January 21-22, 2006 in Bacolod City.
Bertar Karate Kan, in its last outing, took home 2 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals courtesy of Stephanie Queen Uberas and John David Lizares in the Mayor Thadeo Ouano Pre SEA Games National Invitational Karatedo Championships held by the Cebu Chapter of the PKF last September 24-25, 2005 in Mandaue City, Cebu.
