FIGHT CLUB AMATEUR MIXED MARTIAL ARTS CHALLENGE I: ANIMOSITY IN BACOLOD CITY HUGE SUCCESS

The Fight Club Combat and Streetfighting Center of Edwin J. Tusil Sensei successfully held the Fight Club Amateur Mixed Martial Arts (FCAMMA) Challenge I: Animosity in Bacolod City last September 24, 2005 under the sanction of the Brotherhood of Mixed Martial Artists of Bacolod (BOMB) at the Atrium Area, Gaisano City Bacolod Supermall, Brgy. Singcang, Araneta St., Bacolod City. More than 1,000 spectators witnessed 10 martial artists face off in 4 MMA and 1 sable bouts with 10 others performing martial arts demonstrations. 9 organizations from Bacolod, Bago, Iloilo, and Talisay Cities supported the event.

MIXED MARTIAL ARTS. Overall Champion: Submission Sports Philippines-Bacolod Team of Jek Ferrer and Chester Laquian. 2nd place: Tumbatsu (Iloilo) of Coach Gilton Solis.

58 kg. Rameses Aloro of Submission Sports Philippines-Bacolod Team over Joseph “Jojo” Robejes of Tumbatsu (Iloilo) via disqualification. 61-66 kg. Rolando Tabano of Tumbatsu over John Perry Cesar of Fight Club via tapout. 84-90 kg. Adrian Hillana of SSP-BT over Jason Liansing of Fight Club. Instructor’s Category 57-59 kg. (Main Event). Coach Milo Abilido of SSP-BT over Coach Gilton Solis of Tumbatsu via unanimous decision.

Reserve MMA players. Jet Lumawag of black Falcon and Emmanuel Solis of tumbatsu.

SABLE. Sanctioned by: Yasay Sable of Bago City. Francis John Carranza of CMAS-USLS over Montano Mondia IV of CMAS-USLS by 3-points rule. The bout was the first sable match to be held in a mall in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.

DEMONSTRATIONS. Bacolod Aikido Enthusiasts (BAE) composed of Chief Instructor Maun Sensei, Engr. Franklin R. Calmerin, Kim Jake A. Cepeda, Stephanie L. Ampil, and Andy B. Caña; Bago City’s Philippine Tapado Association (PTA) composed of Grandmaster Benefredo “Bebing” Lobredo, PIMAA-FTSDA Chief Instructor Elmer P. Montoyo Jr., Jun-Jun Maravilla, and CMAS Founder Alojado Sensei; and Conceptual Martial Arts Society composed of Founder Sy Sensei, Francis John Carranza, Steve Vincent Mamaed, and Montano Mondia IV.

BAE exhibited the empty handed and weapons techniques of aikido. The original Filipino tapado exhibition was the first ever mall demonstration of the art in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental. CMAS performed Lapu-Lapu Viñas arnis sinawali and disarming techniques.

BODYBUILDING POSING. 2005 Mr. Hinigaran contender Jojohn Gregorious and 2005 Mr. Philippines Night of Champions winner Oleen Lobaton, both of Sam’s Slim Gym.
