LAPU-LAPU VIÑAS ARNIS REINTRODUCED AT UNIV. OF ST. LA SALLE
Founders James U. Sy Jr. and Narciso “Hansy” L. Alojado formally reintroduced the indigenous Bacoleño art of Lapu-Lapu Viñas arnis at the University of St. La Salle with an inaugural training session on February 16, 2004 at the University Grand Stand, University of St. La Salle, La Salle Avenue, Bacolod City.
7 La Sallians, all members of Conceptual Martial Arts Society-USLS, led by Club VP Joy Gallos joined the initial training, which was under the sanction of 1st generation system inheritor Headmaster Wilson “Nonong” E. Viñas and the Lapu-Lapu Viñas Arnis Aficionados Association.
Lapu-Lapu Viñas arnis was previously introduced by HM Viñas in the university in the 1990s.
FMA is for Filipino Martial Arts. FMA Circle is a group of persons and organizations sharing a common interest or revolving about a common center. That common center is the Art and Craft of Martial Arts as practiced, and developed by Filipino Warriors and Scholars of the Warrior Ways. In short, FMA Circle is dedicated to any Martial Arts as practiced by Filipinos.
