SAGAY TKD TOPS CADIZ MAYOR’S CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Sagay City Taekwondo Team of Leonico Bong Rios was crowned overall champion during the 1st Mayor Salvador Escalante Taekwondo Championships held by the Cadiz City Government on January 18, 2004 at the Cadiz City Multi-Purpose Gym, Cadiz City. Sagay City booked 9 gold medals.

Bacolod Consolidated Sports Management Association (BACSMA) of Joel R. Casiple (6 gold medals), Cadiz City (4 gold medals), and Manapla (2 gold medals) were 2nd to 4th places respectively while Victorias City and Renzoku Martial Arts Academy (RMAA) of Humberto “Bert” P. Ginete Sensei tied at 5th place with one gold medal each.

Sagay City gold medallists were Eduard Buenavista (elementary boys), Kristine Cedeno (secondary girls), Antonio Ferrer (secondary boys), Gemer Gonzales (secondary boys), Donje Mainit (elementary boys), Gemini Miranda (secondary girls), Dana Faye Rios (elementary girls), Liezl Tumacas (secondary girls), and Victoriano Victorama (elementary boys).

BACSMA gold medallists were Cesarie Barcillo, Gehru Bedayos, George Bedayos, Roy Vincent Dionela, Dustin de Larrazabal, and Josefa Ramirez.

Officials were Arthur Villamil (tournament director), Ricarte Relon of the Bacolod Taekwondo Association (Head of Officiating Staff), and Felizardo Cansica, Mark Anthony Carmona, Jerry Estante, Catherine Joy Guotana, and Ellen June Guotana of BACSMA (assistants/officiating staff).
