BACSMA 2ND IN PASSI TKD

The Passi Taekwondo Association in cooperation with the Iloilo Taekwondo Association under Sim “Jun” Griño successfully held the 1st Passi City Invitational Taekwondo Championships under the sanction of the Philippine Taekwondo Association on February 27, 2005 at the Passi City Social Hall, Passi City.

Sta. Barbara Taekwondo Association under President Belen Sonza and Instructor Jun Tanalgo was overall champion with 8 gold medals. The Bacolod Consolidated Sports Management Association (BACSMA) under Coach Joel R. Casiple was 2nd place with a 7-2-7 medal haul. Capiz Taekwondo under President Jonathan Adjijil and Instructors Adorico Venancio Jr. and Joven Venancio and Passi Taekwondo Association under President Raul Ramos and Instructor Victor Seguiban were 3rd and 4th places respectively with 6 and 5 gold medals in that order. Other participating teams were Iloilo Main Gym, Iloilo National High School, Lambunao (Iloilo), and Taekwondo Guimaras Association.

BACSMA gold medalists were Ceasarie Barcillo of NOHS (secondary flyweight), Roy Dionela of Don Bosco Victorias (secondary flyweight), Tedjay Ibañez of Bacolod Christian Center School (elementary 4’3”-4’6”), Dustin D. Larrazabal of NOHS (secondary featherweight), Josefa Ramirez of NOHS (secondary welterweight), Melbeth Ramirez of USLS (secondary lightweight), and John Valencia of ETCS-I (elementary 5’0”-5’3”); silver medalists, John Ray Alovera of LCC-Bacolod (elementary 4’9”-5’0”) and Richelle Fernandez of ETCS-I (elementary 5’0”-5’3”); and bronze medalists, Moses Añora of ETCS-I (elementary 5’3”-5’6”), Gehru Bedayos of Medel Elementary School (elementary 4’3”-4’6”), JP Calvo of ETCS-I (elementary 4’9”-5’0”), Llanie Cruz of NOHS (secondary bantamweight), Carl Estoque of ETCS-I (elementary 4’6”-4’9”), Chacha Illorin of ETCS-I (elementary 4’6”-5’0”), and Hernani Tacorda of Sum-ag National High School (secondary bantamweight).

Technical officials were Aubrey Mongao (Iloilo), Richard Gabayoyo (Iloilo), Arnold Alvarez (Capiz), Junjun Tanalgo (Iloilo), and Victor Seguiban (Iloilo).
