BMAF HOLDS 1ST WV KICKBOX COMPETITION
The Brotherhood Martial Arts Federation (BMAF) of President Rustico M. Pabalinas held the 1st Western Visayas Kickboxing Competition on March 14, 2004 at the Victorias City Plaza Skating Ring, Victorias City. 18 kickboxers from Bacolod City, Cadiz City, Hinoba-an, San Carlos City, Silay City, and Victorias City saw action in a total of 9 bouts.
Bacolod City’s Black Falcon Martial Arts Association-Main (BFMAA-Main) of Joery C. Amante Sensei was overall champion with 5 wins. Victorias City’s Florencia Martial Arts (FMA) of Ian Negrido was 2nd place with 2 wins. Hinoba-an Martial Arts Society (HMAS) of Coach Anthony Nuñesco and San Carlos City’s Jungle Fighters Martial Arts Club (JUFIMAC) of Diomedes Mamugay Sensei tied at 3rd place with a win each.
BFMAA-Main winners were Romulo Cañete, Jr., Julius Dohinog, Sherwin Nuñesco, Benny Trayco, and Andres Villarmia; for FMA, Randy de Asis and Nilrax de Café; for HMAS, Leonel Nuñesco; and for JUFIMAC, Johnmar Palabrica.
An arnis demonstration was given by the Lapu-Lapu Viñas Arnis Aficionados Association (LVAAA) represented by Kalantiaw Defense Society (KDS) Founder Grandmaster Dominador “Doming” D. Ferrer and Conceptual Martial Arts Society (CMAS) Founder James U. Sy Jr.
