PALABRICA GIVES WFP-NEGROS ITS LONE MEDAL IN THE WUSHU NAT’LS
Johnmar Palabrica of Jungle Fighters Martial Arts Club (JUFIMAC) was one of two Negrense who represented Wushu Federation of the Philippines-Negros Occidental (WFP-Neg. Occ.) in the 2005 Philippine National Wushu Championships held by the Wushu Federation of the Philippines (WFP) on May 28-29, 2005 at the National Wushu Training Center, Manila.
He failed to go for the gold as he succumbed to Joseph Pasiwat of powerhouse Baguio. Palabrica, however, became the first wushu sanshou athlete from San Carlos City to bring home a national level bronze medal for his hometown. Palabrica was entered in the Male B 60 kgs. category.
Palabrica’s teammate, Andres Villarmia of Black Falcon Martial Arts Association-Main (BFMAA-Main), bowed out to Tyrone Naticho of Benguet in the Male B 56 kgs. division.
FMA is for Filipino Martial Arts. FMA Circle is a group of persons and organizations sharing a common interest or revolving about a common center. That common center is the Art and Craft of Martial Arts as practiced, and developed by Filipino Warriors and Scholars of the Warrior Ways. In short, FMA Circle is dedicated to any Martial Arts as practiced by Filipinos.
