PIMAA-FTSDA GROUP K FORMALLY OPENED, WFP-NEG. OCC. ELECTS OFFICERS

The Philippine Integrated Martial Arts Academy-Filipino Tang Soo Do Association (PIMAA-FTSDA) Group K Branch was formally opened with a thanksgiving on March 19, 2005 at the 3F Group K Complex, Brgy. Tangub, Bacolod City. The event was facilitated by Master Elmer V. Montoyo, Founder/President of PIMAA-FTSDA.

After the thanksgiving, the Wushu Federation of the Philippines-Negros Occidental (WFP-Negros Occidental) election of officers was held. Those reelected and elected to office were Joery C. Amante Sensei of Black Falcon Martial Arts Association-Main (president), Master Elmer V. Montoyo of PIMAA-FTSDA (VP-Central Negros), Diomedes N. Mamugay Sensei of Jungle Fighters Martial Arts Club (VP-Northern Negros), Narciso “Hansy” L. Alojado Sensei of Conceptual Martial Arts Society (secretary), Jimmy T. Lee Kyosanim PIMAA-FTSDA (treasurer), Pastor Alex Imperial (auditor), James U. Sy Jr. Sensei of Conceptual Martial Arts Society (PIO/business manager), Coach Joel R. Casiple of Bacolod Consolidated Sports Management Association, Jericho Magbanua Kyosanim of PIMAA-FTSDA, Erodgie O. Sepe, Teody Teovisio Kyosanim of PIMAA-FTSDA, Edwin J. Tusil Sensei of Fight Club Combat and Streetfighting Center, and Hiereteo “Didoy” Villarosa V Kyosanim of PIMAA-FTSDA (board directors), and Atty. Lyndon Caña (legal adviser).

Since its inception in July 2003, WFP-Negros tirelessly and intensively propagated wushu in Bacolod and its neighboring areas.

It collected a total haul of 24-25-1 gold, silver and bronze medals in 10 national, regional, and provincial wushu sanshou competitions and a four gold and four silver medal harvest in two provincial mixed martial arts competitions.

WFP-Negros had sponsored four tournaments and two provincial seminars, participated in six wushu sanshou demonstrations in the cities of Bacolod and Bago.

The group had featured wushu sanshou in two cable TV programs and in a radio program three times.

The group is preparing to hold about five more wushu sanshou tournaments before the year ends.

The tournaments are expected to be organized by its member groups, namely, Black Falcon Martial Arts Association-Main, Centralian Fighters Martial Arts Club, Conceptual Martial Arts Society, Jungle Fighters Martial Arts Club, and Philippine Integrated Martial Arts Academy-Filipino Tang Soo Do Association with the help of their other affiliated members.(FCR)
