TARIO OIDO SEMINAR HELD

The 3rd Negros Martial Arts Renaissance Seminar Tour: Tario Oido was sponsored by the Philippine Integrated Martial Arts Academy-Filipino Tang Soo Do Association (PIMAA-FTSDA) of Founder/President Master Elmer V. Montoyo on September 20, 2005 at the PIMAA-FTSDA Gym, Group K Complex, Brgy. Tangub, Bacolod City.

Featured instructor was Grandmaster Sotero Tario of Bago City, 74. GM Tario studied oido under Grandmaster Eming Gubaton, who is the brother of Grandmasters Abraham and Sabas T. Gubaton of the Oido de Caburata Arnis Group (ODCA) based in Ma-ao, Bago City.

GM Tario taught the various manifestations of oido, most of them traceable to Grandmasters Jose Aguilar of Murcia and A. Gubaton of Ma-ao, both students of the founder of oido de caburata the late Great Grandmaster Antonio “Toñing” Tolosa, and even present in Grandmaster Romeo “Nono” Mamar’s original Filipino tapado.

The seminar was the first of a series of workshops lined up by the PIMAA-FTSDA to be held monthly for its members and allied organizations.
