ORIGINAL FILIPINO TAPADO RE-ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING HELD, OFFICERS ELECTED

Like warrior knights gathering around the round table, practitioners of Original Tapado gather around to discuss their unique art and lineage.



Grandmaster Benefredo “Bebing” Mamar Lobrido presided over the Original Filipino Tapado Long Stick Fighting Association re-organizational meeting held on October 9, 2005 at the Lobrido Residence, Brgy. Taloc, Bago City.

The primary agenda was the revival and reorganization of the Original Filipino Tapado Long Stick Fighting Association after the death of the founder and GM Lobrido’s uncle Grandmaster Romeo “Nono” Mamar last February 9, 2005.

An election of officers was held. Those elected to office were GM Benefredo Lobrido (president), John “Jun-Jun” Maravilla (vice president), Elmer V. Montoyo (secretary), Alfredo M. Lobrido (assistant secretary), Michael Rosquillo (treasurer), Narciso “Hansy” L. Alojado (auditor), James U. Sy Jr. (business manager), Joe Pamilangco and Jinny Mamar (PIO), and Wilson M. Cejas, Nelson G. Carmona, Rufino M. Fernandez Jr., Pastor Romeo N. Gumban, Jimmy T. lee, Clodualdo M. Lobrido, Jevenio T. Magbanua, Hernando T. Mamar, Romeo T. Mamar Jr., Patrocinio C. Mamar, Rodolfo P. Mayordomo, Elmer P. Montoyo Jr., Ronie P. Ngalongalay, Rolito A. Ruelan, Erodgie O. Sepe, and Rodolfo N. Zambales (board members).

Plans were laid to register the organization with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

GM Lobrido, the 1st generation inheritor of original Filipino tapado, is currently teaching the original Filipino tapado class at the Philippine Integrated Martial Arts Academy-Filipino Tang Soo Do Association, Group K Complex, Brgy. Tangub, Bacolod City. Master Elmer V. Montoyo, Founder/President of PIMAA-FTSDA, and his son Elmer “Don-Don” P. Montoyo Jr. Kyosanim are helping GM Lobrido to popularize tapado in the urban areas of Bacolod City.

GM Lobrido led the Original Filipino Tapado Long Stick Fighting Association demonstration during the Fight Club Amateur Mixed Martial Arts Challenge I: Animosity in Bacolod City held by the Fight Club Combat and Streetfighting Center of Edwin J. Tusil Sensei last September 24, 2005 at the Atrium Area, Gaisano City Bacolod Supermall, Brgy. Singcang, Araneta St., Bacolod City.
