ATLETA JUDO CLUB, NAT’L BOYS & GIRLS CHAMP
Talisay City’s Atleta Judo Club of PAJA Chief Professor Kinjho, Masaharu K. Shihan, 8th dan black belt PAJA, hauled a total of 7-8-7 medals (7-6-5 in the boys and girls event, 0-2-2 in the juniors category) and was crowned overall champion in the boys and girls competition of the 2004 National Boys and Girls Individual Judo Championships and the 2004 National Juniors Individual Judo Championships held by the Philippine Amateur Judo Association (PAJA) in cooperation with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) on June 26-27, 2004 at the Rizal Memorial Sports Corocium (Boxing Gym), Malate, Manila.
The Stanleys (Quezon City) (4-1-4), Zamboanga City (3-2-3), Muntinlupa City (2-6-3), AMA Computer University-Manila (1-1-0), Baguio YMCA (1-1-0), Saint Louis University (1-0-1), and Frontliner/Parañaque (0-1-2) were 2nd to 7th places respectively.
The gold medalists from AJC were Edgardo S. Aleygada of DLMHS/Brgy. Concepcion (-73 kg.), Arai, Tetsuro S. of LCC Bacolod/Brgy. Concepcion (-46 kg.), Shallane T. Bello of CHMSC/Brgy. Concepcion (-45 kg.), Kinjho, Sueko L. of Concepcion Elementary School (-29 kg.), Edna H. Montoya of DHGGMHS/Brgy. Concepcion (-45 kg.), Nonalyn P. Oredina of Concepcion Elementary School (-22 kg.), and Reynel M. Relota of Concepcion Elementary School (-42 kg.).
Silver medalists were Carl Joseph Apelinga of RBLMHS/Hda. Virgen II (-55 kg.), Rogelyn B. Benigay of Concepcion Elementary School (-42 kg.), Nelmar E. Diaz of Brgy. Concepcion (-63 kg.), Jovelyn R. Laboriante of RBLMHS/Zone 2 Orosa (+57 kg.), Mark Anthony C. Laula of UE/Brgy. Concepcion (-90 kg.), Charmaine W. Legario of RBLMHS/Zone 2 Orosa (-45 kg.), Jessa L. Marin of John B. Lacson College/Brgy. Concepcion (-57 kg.), and Katherine H. Villegas of Concepcion Elementary School (+29 kg.).
Bronze medalists were Marjune P. Acupinpin of RBLMHS/Hda. Virgen II (+73 kg.),
Mark Raylene L. Angolo of UNO-R Talisay/Brgy. Concepcion (+46 kg.), Renelyn B. Benigay of DLU/Brgy. Concepcion (-48 kg.), Charlton Steve C. Duron of Concepcion Elementary School (-35 kg.), Patricia Marie L. Kinjho of CHMSC/Brgy. Concepcion (-57 kg.), Crisa Joy W. Neri of RBLMHS/Carmela (+57 kg.), and Jacob M. Segura of Brgy. Concepcion (-73 kg.).
University of Baguio was crowned champion in the juniors’ tournament. Baguio College Foundation (4-1-3), De la Salle University (3-2-5), Saint Louis University (2-1-2), University of Sto. Tomas (1-1-1), City College of Manila (1-1-0), Muntinlupa (1-0-1), Mapua Institute of Technology (-03-3), Atleta Judo Club (0-2-2), Polytechnic University of the Philippines (0-1-2), AMA Computer University (0-1-1), University of the East (0-0-1), and Zamboanga (0-0-1) were 2nd to 13th places respectively.
